Getting First Sale with Advertorials โ Course Notes
Plain-English notes from Greg's advertorial course, reorganized so each idea is easy to hold onto โ and so you can see how the ideas fit together. Each lesson gets its own block; the connections between ideas are called out wherever they matter.
๐ฏ The Big Idea
One Sentence Everything in this lesson points at one outcome: a single confirmed sale.
Not one thousand dollars a day. Not a perfect brand. Not a clever funnel. One stranger paying for your offer. That single purchase turns theory into evidence โ and once you have evidence, the next hundred sales are just repetition.
๐ก Why the First Sale Matters
Going from zero to one is the shift that turns theory into evidence. Before it, everything is guesswork and hope. After it, you have data, momentum and confidence. It is not about the size of the ticket or the glamour of the channel โ it is about proving that a stranger will exchange money for your offer.
Proof of Competence
It validates that your offer, message and delivery connect with a real buyer.
Momentum Builder
Success compounds. Confidence drives consistent action.
Repeatability
If it worked once, you can replicate the steps. Replication scales.
๐ชง Narrow the Objective
Forget the endgame for a moment. Park the one-thousand-dollars-a-day target. The win condition for this sprint is a single confirmed purchase โ treat it as your proof of concept, especially if this is your first time selling online or you are launching a low-ticket offer.
One Transaction
Aim for a clean, unambiguous sale you can point to. That is the milestone.
Low Friction
Fewer steps, fewer decisions, less to break. Simpler beats clever.
Time-Boxed
Act with urgency. The longer you wait, the colder your intent becomes.
โก Speed Over Everything
Greg's directive is blunt: use the fastest humanly possible path with his most proven acquisition method. That means no overthinking, no tinkering for perfection, no stacking untested ideas. Leverage what is already known to work โ and deploy now.
Rule 1 Execution > Optimisation
You cannot optimise what has not sold. Sell first, refine later.
Rule 2 Proven > Novel
Fancy, untested tactics are distractions. Go with what has a track record.
Rule 3 Action Bias
Decisions made in minutes, not days. Publish, send, ship.
๐งฒ The Acquisition Lever (Teed Up)
This lesson sets the stage for the exact process Greg uses. He walks you through the method he trusts most to acquire customers quickly โ you will implement it step by step in the lessons that follow. But the mindset starts here.
The commitment before the method
Commit to one proven channel and push it hard until it produces the first sale. No scattergun approach. No hopping across platforms. Concentrate your energy where it counts, and keep it simple.
๐งฐ Practical Focus for Zero-to-One
Keep the system lean so there is nothing between you and a paid confirmation email. These eight moves are the whole operating list for the sprint.
Offer Offer Clarity
One outcome, one promise, one price. Remove ambiguity.
Checkout Frictionless Checkout
Make paying the easiest step in the process. Fewer clicks, fewer forms.
Message Message That Moves
Direct language that hits the problem and the payoff. Cut fluff.
Traffic Single Traffic Source
Choose one route to buyers and go deep. Volume over variety.
Cadence Consistent Throughput
Daily activity that puts the offer in front of people now.
Speed Immediate Follow-Up
Shorten the delay between interest and ask. Strike while attention is high.
Measure Binary Measurement
For the first sprint, track one thing: sale or no sale. Everything else is noise.
Loop Think in Loops
Attempt, observe, adjust, attempt again. Iteration speed matters more than perfect inputs.
๐ Evidence, Then Expansion
When the first sale lands, mine it for signal. You are not guessing anymore โ you are reading the buyer. Three questions do the work:
Who Bought?
Profile, context, and what likely triggered the purchase.
What Hit?
Words, angles and objections that moved them.
What Was Unnecessary?
Steps or assets that did not impact the outcome.
๐ซ Common Mistakes to Bin
| Mistake | Why It Kills the Sprint | Do This Instead |
|---|---|---|
| Overbuilding | Fancy pages, complex automations and branding before revenue. No buyer asked for it. | Simple page, clear offer, sell now. Build after money arrives. |
| Channel hopping | Switching methods mid-stream destroys momentum and muddies your data. | One channel, pushed hard until it produces the first sale. |
| Endless tweaking | Polishing assets no buyer has seen yet is procrastination in disguise. | Ship it. Adjust only on what real buyer behaviour shows. |
| Measuring vanity | Likes, clicks and opens are not cash. | Track purchases. Sale or no sale. |
| Waiting for perfect | Perfection is a stall tactic. | Get something live and sell it. Live beats perfect. |
๐ From 1 to Many
After the first sale, scaling is a matter of repeating what worked and increasing throughput.
Codify the Steps
Write the exact actions that led to the sale. That is your micro playbook.
Maintain Message Integrity
Do not dilute what converted. Keep the winning line intact.
Increase Exposures
More of the right people seeing the same proven offer.
Iterate on Proof
Add evidence (results, testimonials) as they come โ it shortens the next buyer's decision time.
๐ง The Mindset to Carry
Confidence follows evidence. The first sale is the moment you know you can do this โ but treat it as a baseline, not a finish line.
Decisive
Make moves fast and learn from outcomes.
Resilient
A "no" is feedback that guides the next "yes."
Relentless
If one person bought, find the next hundred by doing more of what worked.
๐ฐ Lesson 2 ยท Top 5 Advertorial Concept & Creation
This lesson shows you how to create a high-converting Top 5 advertorial using the MCP prompt and the GoHighLevel AI Studio template. You generate the full article (copy and images), drop it into the template, add screenshots for the competitor entries, wire all links and calls to action, and publish it on a neutral, blog-style domain โ fast.
The Asset What You End Up With
A blog-style comparison article that ranks five options in your space, with your offer at #1 โ AI-written, image-complete, correctly linked, published on a neutral domain.
Deeper Training New to Advertorials?
There is a full Advertorial Mastery section in the Masterclass with deeper training and swipe files. This lesson is about getting your Top 5 live quickly so you can start driving traffic and sales.
๐ Why Top 5 Advertorials Win
Sending cold traffic from Meta straight to a sales page only converts the tiny slice of people ready to buy right now. Everyone else bounces โ scepticism and ad fatigue do the rest.
The three mechanisms that change the game
Ad That Doesn't Look Like an Ad
Clicks feel organic, not salesy. The reader arrives curious instead of defensive.
Blog-Style Article
You educate, compare and guide โ you do not hard-sell. The format does the persuasion quietly.
The Referral Effect
The handoff from article to landing page feels like a recommendation. Trust is higher and conversion lifts โ especially among the "not yet ready" crowd.
๐จ The Build โ Steps 1 to 7
Phase 1 ยท Create the concept (Steps 1–2)
Step 1 Generate the Top 5 concept in the MCP
In your portal, open the MCP inside the "$0 to $1K/Day Sprint" and select Top 5 Advertorial – Tested & Ranked. Copy the full prompt into your AI of choice (Claude, GetVictor, or whatever you use) in a fresh or existing thread.
Fill in the requested details: brand name, offer specifics, personas (you can make these up), and any social proof pointers. You can also point the AI at broader advertorial social proof โ well-known brands use advertorials, billions spent industry-wide โ alongside anything from your own landing page.
Step 2 Let the AI write the full advertorial
The AI produces the entire article in the exact structure you need: intro, what to look for, and the ranked list from #1 to #5 โ plus suggested images.
Review the copy for accuracy and positioning. You should be #1.
Phase 2 ยท Assemble in the template (Steps 3–5)
Step 3 Open the GoHighLevel AI Studio Top 5 template
In AI Studio, select the Top 5 Advertorial Template โ this is the highest-performing advertorial layout. Paste the AI-generated article text directly into the template fields.
- Ensure headings, subheads, and the #1–#5 blocks match the AI's structure.
- Keep the editorial look โ no spammy styling.
Step 4 Gather URLs for #2–#5 and take screenshots
Ask your AI thread: "Please provide the URL links for #2, #3, #4, and #5 in the comparison so I can screenshot them." Open each link and screenshot the homepage or a clean hero section.
- File naming: name screenshots clearly so replacement is foolproof โ
2-BrandName.png,3-BrandName.png, and so on. - Also screenshot your own #1 offer page so the top slot has a real visual.
Step 5 Replace images in the template
Back in AI Studio, upload your screenshots and any AI-provided hero images. Tell the system to replace the placeholders using filenames as a guide.
- Place your #1 image under your #1 heading.
- Place competitor screenshots under #2–#5.
Step 6 Wire every link and button
Crucial. Every instance that should drive to your offer must actually go there โ the red #1 title, all red CTA buttons, and any repeated link references.
The full link map is in Wiring Links & CTAs below.
Phase 3 ยท Polish (Step 7)
Step 7 Final tidy-up and preview
Scan the page top to bottom:
- All screenshots display correctly and look clean.
- Copy reads editorial, not salesy, while clearly ranking you #1.
- Comments and avatars (if included) look on-brand; swap images if you like.
- Every call to action and hyperlink goes to the correct URL.
๐ Wiring Links & CTAs
Step 6 deserves its own section because it is where good advertorials quietly leak money. Link out every instance that should drive to your offer.
| Where on the Page | Goes To | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| The red title text for your #1 pick | Your landing page | Must |
| All red CTA buttons under #1 (for example "Get the Advertorial Creator System $27") | Your landing page | Must |
| Any repeated link references to your offer | Your landing page | Must |
| Real alternatives listed at #2–#5 | Their public sites (where appropriate) | Optional |
๐ Publish & Ship (Steps 8–10)
Step 8 Publish to a neutral, blog-style domain
In AI Studio, go to Settings → Domains and add or buy a domain that sounds like an editorial blog โ something like ecomscalingnews.com. Don't overthink it; just make it look like a legitimate newsy site.
- Buy for one year.
- Return to your advertorial in AI Studio → Publish.
- Add custom domain, connect, and hit publish.
Step 9 QA and sign-off
Click every link, read the page aloud for flow, and make sure your ranking and benefits are crystal clear. When you are happy, you are done.
Step 10 Next — create the ads
With the Top 5 live, you are ready to build the Meta ads that match the editorial angle โ news-style image or video, not "ad-y." That is covered in the next lesson.
The Finish Line What "done" looks like
A fully functioning Top 5 advertorial: AI-written, image-complete, correctly linked, and published on a neutral domain. This structure has produced millions in sales and works across niches. Get it live and let the data lead your tweaks.
โ Pre-Publish Checklist
Everything above, compressed into one pass. Tick these and the page is ready for traffic.
- 1.Ranking: you are #1, and the copy is accurate.
- 2.Structure: headings, subheads, and the #1–#5 blocks match the AI's structure.
- 3.Images: your #1 image sits under your #1 heading; competitor screenshots under #2–#5.
- 4.File names: screenshots named clearly (2-BrandName.png, and so on) so replacement stays foolproof.
- 5.Links: red #1 title, every red CTA button, and every repeated reference all go to your landing page.
- 6.Competitor links (optional): #2–#5 point to their real public sites.
- 7.Tone: copy reads editorial and unbiased โ not salesy.
- 8.Extras: comments and avatars (if used) look on-brand.
- 9.Mobile: preview checked โ spacing and line breaks clean.
- 10.QA: every link clicked and verified; ranking and benefits crystal clear.
- 11.Domain: published on the neutral, blog-style domain (bought for one year).
๐ Lesson 3 ยท Advertorial Ad Creation (AI or Canva)
This lesson walks you through building simple, native-style advertorial image ads that look like social news thumbnails. You create four ads minimum using either AI (Claude or ChatGPT via MCP/Victor) or a ready-made Canva template, then refine with realistic images, screenshots, and tight, on-image copy.
The Look What They Look Like
The format mimics what you see on feeds like LinkedIn or news sites: clean hero image, short headline, subtle brand or news tag, and an author byline.
The Job What They Do
The whole point is to blend in and nudge the click through to your advertorial.
๐ฑ Why Native, Fast, and Scalable
Advertorial ads win because they are fast to build, cheap to scale, and instantly familiar to users. They look like the content people already consume, so you get more curiosity clicks at lower CPMs. Instead of over-designing, you ship multiple lightweight variants that match your Top 5 concepts and push traffic to your article-style landing page.
Key advantages
Speed
Knock out 4–7 variants in minutes using AI or Canva.
Control
Swap headlines, images and in-screen screenshots without rethinking layouts.
Relevance
Headlines and imagery echo your Top 5 angles, so the click-off to the advertorial stays consistent.
Native Fit
Feels like a news card, not an ad โ that is the edge.
๐ง The Build โ Steps 1 to 6
Step 1 Know the look you are replicating
Advertorial ads should resemble a news thumbnail you would see on a feed: strong image, tight headline, subtle publisher tag (for example, "eCom News"), and an author byline. Keep it clean, native, and un-fussy.
Think real people, real screens, realistic work setups โ not glossy, corporate stock.
Two routes to the same look
Step 2 Option A โ generate with AI (Claude / ChatGPT via MCP / Victor)
- Grab the base assets: download the four ad images from the folder under this video.
- Open your AI workspace: Claude or ChatGPT (the same thread as your advertorial work is fine). Reference the MCP knowledge base and your Top 5 Advertorial Concepts.
- Prompt to recreate: paste a direct instruction such as "Please recreate these ads exactly for our offer using our Top 5 advertorial concepts." Upload the four reference ad images and include your advertorial landing page URL or document so the AI understands context.
- Let it build first drafts: the AI produces native-styled variations (headline and imagery). Do not overthink โ get first passes out quickly.
- Request targeted edits โ keep change requests precise:
- Real screenshots into device frames: "Please replace each laptop screen with these five screenshots โ one per screen. Don't change anything else."
- Realistic lifestyle images instead of corporate models: "Use this photo, align her left, and don't crop her out."
- Text length: "Keep the same word and character count so it fits the template."
- Publisher tag and byline: update to something native to your niche (for example, "eCom News" and a plausible byline).
- Approve final images once they look native, readable, and on-brief for your Top 5 concepts.
Step 3 Option B โ recreate in the Canva template
- Open the template: click View Template → Open in editor, then Make a copy into your Canva account.
- Swap the background image โ two quick routes:
- Canva Photos: search terms like "working on laptop." Drag the image into the background slot so it snaps correctly, then Send to back if needed.
- External sources: pull realistic photos from Pinterest or same.energy. Aim for real people and real environments, not staged corporate shots.
- Insert real screenshots: use your system screenshot tool to capture the exact UI you want (for example, tool dashboards). Drop them onto laptop or phone frames within the template and size them neatly.
- Update the copy via AI: ask "Please rewrite the headline for this advertorial ad for our Top 5 concepts. Keep the same word and character length. Here is the landing page for context. See the attached image." Paste the returned headline straight into Canva.
- Refresh the publisher and byline: change the tag to a native-sounding label (for example, "eCom News") and update the author name. Keep it subtle and believable.
- Duplicate and produce four variants: swap background images, headlines, and in-screen screenshots while keeping the layout consistent.
Step 4 Collaborate and scale via "Victor"
- Create a channel called "advertorial ads" and add Victor (your assistant) to it.
- Post a clear brief with your advertorial document or URL and attach all four reference images. Example: "Please recreate these avatar ads exactly for our offer. Change any images and headlines to match our Top 5 advertorials. The landing page they will go to is here."
- Request revisions as needed: swap in the five tool screenshots into laptops, replace stiff stock models with your chosen lifestyle images, and tidy any spacing or cropping issues.
Step 5 Quality control before download
- Native check: would this pass as a news thumbnail at a glance?
- Readability: headline legible on mobile; no awkward wraps.
- Relevance: image and headline match one of your Top 5 advertorial angles.
- Authenticity: realistic people and scenes; avoid overly corporate stock.
- Accuracy: screenshots are real, sharp, and correctly placed.
Step 6 Export and organise
- Download all approved ads and drop them into a clearly named folder (for example, "Advertorial Ads – V1").
- Ensure at least four finalised variants are ready to go. More is fine โ you can test 6–7.
- You are done. In the next lesson, you upload these to your ad account and push them live in minutes.
โ Quality Check Before Download
- 1.Native: would it pass as a news thumbnail at a glance?
- 2.Readable: headline legible on mobile, no awkward wraps.
- 3.Relevant: image and headline match one of your Top 5 advertorial angles.
- 4.Authentic: realistic people and scenes โ no glossy corporate stock.
- 5.Accurate: screenshots real, sharp, correctly placed.
- 6.Ready: at least four finalised variants in a clearly named folder.
๐ฐ Lesson 4 ยท Direct Offer Ad
This lesson shows you how to create direct offer ads that state the deal plainly and target a relevant audience. You build fast, text-first static creatives in 4:5 format using Canva (and optionally AI), then spin quick avatar-specific variants. The goal is clarity over cleverness โ if the offer is good, these ads sell. If they don't, the offer needs work.
The Asset What You End Up With
A set of blunt, text-first 4:5 static images โ offer, avatar, deliverables, price and turnaround all visible at a glance โ plus avatar-specific variants ready to drop into Meta.
The Honest Test What They Tell You
These ads are an instant read on offer-market fit. If a clean ad that literally states the value does not pull revenue, the problem is not the ad โ it's the offer or how you're positioning it.
โก Why Direct Offer = Fast Signal
Direct offer ads pair perfectly with your advertorials. Advertorials educate and warm; direct offers convert the very aware market โ people actively in-market for what you sell. They give you an instant read on offer-market fit without fluff.
What this format is for
Validate Quickly
Test if the market wants what you've packaged.
Target Precisely
Call out avatars so buyers self-identify.
Scale Production
Duplicate into dozens of on-brand variants in minutes.
๐จ The Build โ Steps 1 to 8
Phase 1 ยท Lock it (Step 1)
Step 1 Lock the offer and avatar
Decide the exact offer you will advertise and who it is for. The example from the lesson:
| Element | Example |
|---|---|
| Offer | 10 custom advertorials, fully researched, written, and pages built |
| Turnaround | 48 hours |
| Price | $27 |
| Avatar call-out | "Ecom brand owners 100k+/month" (then variants for "Supplement brands", "Fashion brands", and so on) |
Phase 2 ยท Design (Steps 2–3)
Step 2 Create a clean 4:5 static in Canva
Use a simple text-first layout โ no fluff.
- Open Canva and create a 4:5 social post canvas (Instagram Post 1080×1350 works).
- Pick a bold, readable font. Keep alignment either centred or left โ test both if needed.
- Headline: state the offer plainly. Example: "We research, write and build you 10 custom advertorials in 48 hours."
- Avatar line (top or subhead): "Ecom brand owners 100k+/month."
- Deliverables checklist: 3–5 bullets with green checkmarks โ pages built, research done, human-written concepts/structures.
- Price & turnaround: make them unmissable near the headline or footer โ "Just $27 โ 48-hour delivery."
- Spacing: generous line spacing. Make it skimmable at a glance.
Step 3 Add simple visual cues (optional)
Keep design cues minimal and functional:
- Green checkmarks for each deliverable.
- A highlight box or rectangle behind the price or key line if it helps scannability.
- Brand colour swap if you wish โ it doesn't make or break performance.
Phase 3 ยท Multiply (Steps 4–6)
Step 4 Duplicate for avatar variants
Once the base creative is set, clone and tweak:
- Change the avatar call-out: "Supplement stores", "Fashion brands", and so on.
- Adjust any niche-specific phrasing if needed, but keep the core offer identical.
- Create multiple variants in minutes โ this is where wins compound.
Step 5 Use templates if you've got them
If you have access to pre-built templates (for example, 3,000+ inside the DFY library), pick simple, text-led layouts for direct offers. Import your copy, switch colours if you want, and you're done.
Step 6 Generate more ads with AI (optional)
AI can speed production โ but only if you feed it properly. Don't be lazy.
- Collect assets: your base ad image(s), offer stack, research docs, logos, and screenshots of advertorials and landing pages.
- Prompt clearly: ask your AI tool of choice (Claude, and so on) to replicate pixel-for-pixel the structure of your reference ad for your offer. Attach the assets.
- One image at a time: generate per-creative for higher quality control.
- Copy rewrites: ask AI to rewrite the headline/body with the same word and character count so the design balance holds.
Step 7 Export and organise
Download all finished creatives (Canva and AI). Name files clearly by Offer + Avatar + Colour โ for example, Advertorials_27_Ecom100k_White.png. These slot straight into your Meta setup in the next lesson.
Phase 4 ยท Read it (Step 8)
Step 8 Read the signal properly
When you run these, remember what they are built for:
- They target the very aware. Results come fast if the offer hits.
- If no sales: the offer is not strong enough or not framed right. Fix the offer first โ then iterate the ad.
โ Quality Checklist Before You Launch
- 1.Offer: stated in the first line โ clear, specific, priced.
- 2.Avatar: explicitly called out.
- 3.Deliverables: 3–5 green-check bullets.
- 4.Price and turnaround: bold and visible.
- 5.Background: white or yellow for maximum contrast.
- 6.Mobile: readable at a glance.
- 7.Variants: at least 3 avatar variants created.
๐ Lesson 5 ยท Meta Ads Setup & Go Live
This lesson shows you exactly how to go from zero to one with Meta ads โ creating the minimum viable structure, loading your creatives, and hitting publish. You set up two Pages (Advertorial and Brand), build a simple Sales campaign with CBO, launch both Advertorial and Direct Offer ads, and implement tracking via the GoHighLevel Conversions API (with Cortana as the advanced option).
The Build What You Set Up
Two Facebook Pages, one Sales campaign with CBO, two ad sets loaded with the creatives from Lessons 3 and 4, tracking wired, published.
The Ceiling How Far This Structure Goes
This simple setup is solid up to around $1k/day. Above that, you split campaigns and geos โ covered in the advanced course.
๐ก Why: Speed, Signal, and Scale
Ads are an investment, not a cost. They give you instant feedback โ usually within 48 hours. If performance is poor, it is your offer or your creative: fix, relaunch, repeat. Do not waste months "hoping" with organic when you can get hard data now.
Fastest Path to Sales
One simple, robust campaign structure is enough to start.
90% of Results = Creative
The account setup is the easy 10%; your ads and angles do the heavy lifting.
Always Be Running
Even at $5/day, you are collecting data and buying speed.
Tracking Matters
Meta's native reporting can be way off. Wire in server-side tracking to make smarter decisions.
๐ The Setup โ Steps 1 to 4
Step 1 Pre-requisites and access
You need a Facebook account and a Meta Ads account. If you do not have one, create it at facebook.com. If you have access issues or a ban, source alternatives (agency accounts). You can also buy Facebook accounts via marketplaces like swaps.co.
Optional: connect AI assistants (for example, "Victor" or "Claude") to Meta Ads to create and manage campaigns. For learning, this course does it manually.
Step 2 Create two Facebook Pages
- Advertorial Page: Pages → Create Page → name it like a news or blog brand (for example, "Ecom Scaling News"). Add a simple logo (AI-generated is fine). Add your advertorial site URL.
- Brand / Offer Page: create a second Page for your main offer or brand (for example, "Advertorial Creator"). Add a logo. You can reuse or rename it later.
Step 3 Create your campaign (Sales + CBO)
- Go to Ads Manager → Create → choose Sales.
- Name it something clear (for example, "Direct Offer Campaign – All Countries").
- Campaign budget: turn on CBO. Start at any level โ even $5/day. Greg demoed $100/day.
Step 4 Configure the ad set
- Conversion location: Website. Optimisation: Maximise Conversions.
- Dataset (Pixel): select an existing one or create a new dataset (name it sensibly). Choose Purchase as the event. CAPI tracking is sorted shortly.
- Targeting: countries = US, UK, AU, NZ, CA (expand later). Age 22+ (or 25+ if you sell high ticket). Leave languages and placements alone for now.
- Start time: again, set to 00:01 the next day.
๐จ The Ads โ Steps 5 to 7
Step 5 Build your Advertorial ads
- Ad naming: for example, "Concept #1 – v1".
- Identity: select your Advertorial Page. For Instagram identity, choose Use Facebook Page.
- URL: paste your advertorial page URL (from your funnel builder).
- Upload creatives: use your 5 × "Top 5" advertorial images from Lesson 3.
- Disable all "helpful" toggles: Multi-advertiser ads, Advantage+ creative and variations (if you want full control), image generation and expansion, language translations, relevant comments โ all off.
- Copy: use your AI tool to write 3–4 line primary text plus a clear call to action. Headlines can be short, data and social-proof led. Button = Learn more (tested winner).
- UTM parameters: add a consistent UTM string to every ad now so you will not need to republish when tracking is added (the exact string is in Tracking).
- Duplicate for variants: create v2, v3, and so on. Ensure only one creative is selected per ad.
Step 6 Build your Direct Offer ads
- Duplicate the ad set to move faster. Rename it to Direct Offer.
- Identity: switch to your Brand / Offer Page.
- URL: paste your main offer landing page โ not the advertorial.
- Upload creatives: use your direct offer images from Lesson 4 (plus your Canva template versions).
- Copy: ask AI for a long-form primary text variant, plus stat and social-proof headlines. Use Learn more as the call to action.
- Disable toggles again. Add the same UTM string.
- Duplicate to load the remaining creatives (v2, v3…). Keep the 6 ads per ad set rule.
Step 7 Publish
At the campaign level, click Review and Publish. That is your zero-to-one structure done. This simple setup is solid up to around $1k/day โ above that, you split campaigns and geos (covered in the advanced course).
๐ก Tracking โ Step 8
Option A · Advanced Cortana
A dedicated tracking platform with very high attribution accuracy โ often around 98%. It outperforms Meta's native reporting and makes decision-making far cleaner.
Option B · Free / Native GoHighLevel + Conversions API
Better than pixel-only and good enough to start. The full setup is below.
GoHighLevel CAPI setup
- In GoHighLevel, go to Automations → Create workflow (Start from scratch).
- Trigger: Order Form Submission. Filter by Funnel, Checkout page, and the specific Product (your core offer).
- Action: add the Facebook Conversions API step:
- Connection type: Integration
- Event: Purchase
- Value: product price (for example, 27)
- Currency: for example, USD
- Dataset (Pixel) ID: from Meta Business Settings → Data sources (Datasets)
- Access Token: Events Manager → Settings → Conversions API → Generate access token
- Repeat for order bumps, upsells, and downsells with their respective values and page triggers.
The UTM string for every ad
Add this consistent UTM string to the tracking box on every ad now โ so you never need to republish when tracking is added:
utm_medium={{adset.name}}&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}&campaign_id={{campaign.id}}&medium_id={{adset.id}}&content_id={{ad.id}}
Accuracy guide
| Tracking Setup | Accuracy | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Meta native reporting only | Can be wildly off | Do not make spend decisions on it alone. |
| GoHighLevel + Conversions API | ~75–80% | Better than pixel-only; good enough to start. |
| Dedicated tracker (Cortana) | ~94–98%+ | Often ~98%. Better data = better spend decisions. |
๐งฏ If an Ad Account Gets Banned
AdRevival — agency / pre-approved accounts
Accounts & tools
- swaps.co — buy Facebook accounts via marketplaces.
- facebook.com — create fresh accounts and Pages.
- Cortana — the ad tracking tool.
๐ Operating Rhythm โ Step 9
- 1.Run something daily โ even at $5/day.
- 2.Let ads run and gather signal. 48 hours is enough to spot obvious losers.
- 3.If it is not working, it is the offer or the creative. Iterate and relaunch.
- 4.Expand beyond the core 5 English-speaking countries once you are at around $1k/day spend.
โ Pre-Launch Checklist
- 1.Access: Facebook account and Meta Ads account in place (or an agency alternative).
- 2.Pages: Advertorial Page (news-style name, logo, advertorial URL) and Brand / Offer Page created.
- 3.Campaign: Sales objective, CBO on, clear name, start time 00:01 the next day.
- 4.Ad set: website conversions, Purchase event, US/UK/AU/NZ/CA, age 22+ (25+ for high ticket), broad targeting.
- 5.Advertorial ads: Advertorial Page identity, advertorial URL, the 5 Top 5 images, one creative per ad.
- 6.Direct Offer ads: Brand / Offer Page identity, main offer landing page URL, direct offer images.
- 7.Toggles: every "helpful" toggle off (Multi-advertiser ads, Advantage+ creative and variations, image generation and expansion, translations, relevant comments).
- 8.Copy: 3–4 line primary text, short data and social-proof led headlines, Button = Learn more.
- 9.UTM: the consistent UTM string on every ad.
- 10.Volume: maximum 6 ads per ad set.
- 11.Tracking: CAPI wired (GoHighLevel or Cortana); Dataset ID and Access Token saved somewhere safe.
- 12.Published at the campaign level โ and the 48-hour read is scheduled.
๐ How the Ideas Connect
This is the map of the course so far โ the ideas from every lesson, arranged so you can see what supports what, including where Lesson 2 puts Lesson 1 into practice. One sale sits at the center; everything else either gets you to it or multiplies it afterward.
๐ชง Narrow the Objective ↔ ๐ Binary Measurement
These are the same idea viewed twice: if the goal is one sale, the only honest metric is sale-or-no-sale. A wide goal invites vanity metrics; a narrow one makes them obviously useless.
โก Speed ↔ ๐ซ Mistakes to Bin
Every mistake in the bin list is a speed tax: overbuilding, hopping and tweaking all slow the loop between attempt and answer. If you are stuck, look for the mistake you are committing.
๐ก Why It Matters ↔ ๐ From 1 to Many
"Proof of competence, momentum, repeatability" is the promise โ and "codify, repeat, add proof" is exactly how the promise gets paid out. The first sale earns the right to the playbook.
๐ Evidence ↔ ๐งฐ Think in Loops
The loop is attempt → observe → adjust. Evidence is the "observe" step done properly: reading the actual buyer instead of your own guesswork. One feeds the other.
๐งฒ One Channel ↔ ๐ง Relentless
Relentless does not mean trying everything harder โ it means pushing the one proven channel harder. Scatter is the opposite of both focus and relentlessness.
๐งฐ Frictionless Checkout ↔ ๐ชง Low Friction
"Low friction" as an objective becomes concrete here: fewer clicks, fewer forms, easier paying. The easiest step in the whole process should be the one where money changes hands.
๐งฒ One Proven Channel (Lesson 1) → ๐ฐ Top 5 Advertorial (Lesson 2)
Lesson 1 promised "the method Greg trusts most to acquire customers quickly." Lesson 2 delivers it. The Top 5 advertorial is the single proven channel you push hard until the first sale arrives.
โก Speed (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐จ The 8–10 Minute Build (Lesson 2)
"Use the fastest humanly possible path" becomes literal here: a tested prompt plus a done-for-you template means the article is written, assembled and published in minutes. Step 9's "ship it, then iterate" is Lesson 1's speed rule restated.
๐ซ Overbuilding (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐งฉ Done-For-You Template (Lesson 2)
The MCP prompt and the GoHighLevel template remove the temptation to build from scratch. Nothing to design, nothing to invent โ fill it in, wire it, publish it. Overbuilding has nowhere to hide.
๐ก Message That Moves (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐ฐ Editorial Tone (Lesson 2)
The advertorial educates, compares and guides instead of hard-selling. The referral effect is "a message that moves" dressed as a review โ same job, softer costume, higher trust.
๐ Evidence (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐ Let the Data Lead (Lesson 2)
Lesson 2 ends exactly where Lesson 1's loop lives: get it live, then tweak on real behaviour โ "let the data lead your tweaks." Attempt, observe, adjust. Not opinions.
๐ชง Narrow the Objective (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐ Get It Live (Lesson 2)
The advertorial comes first, the Meta ads come after โ the sequence protects the goal. One live page is the milestone; traffic follows in the next lesson.
๐ฐ Advertorials (Lesson 2) ↔ ๐ฐ Direct Offer Ads (Lesson 4)
Two speeds of one system: "Advertorials educate and warm; direct offers convert the very aware." The advertorial handles the sceptical 97%; the direct ad harvests the ready 3%. Each covers the other's blind spot.
๐ Read the Signal (Lesson 4) ↔ ๐ Binary Measurement (Lesson 1)
"If no sales, the offer's not strong enough" is Lesson 1's sale-or-no-sale measurement applied brutally. The direct offer ad is the fastest instrument in the course for that single number.
๐ฌ Clarity Over Cleverness (Lesson 4) ↔ ๐ก Message That Moves (Lesson 1)
Stating the deal plainly โ value, deliverables, turnaround, price โ is "direct language that hits the problem and the payoff" with nothing cut but the fluff. Specifics convert; vague is expensive.
๐ซ Don't Design Your Way Out (Lesson 4) ↔ ๐ซ Mistakes to Bin (Lesson 1)
Redesigning a weak-converting ad is endless tweaking in a new costume. Lesson 4 draws the same line Lesson 1 does: fix the offer โ value proposition, guarantee, turnaround, price โ before touching the pixels.
โก Speed (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐จ Variants in Minutes (Lesson 4)
Keeping each variant 90% identical and changing only the avatar line is Lesson 1's "increase exposures" done without breaking the winning message. Duplication scales; redesign doesn't.
๐ชง Narrow the Objective (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐ฏ Avatar Call-Outs (Lesson 4)
Specific avatar call-outs ("Ecom brand owners 100k+/month") do the narrowing for the buyer โ they self-identify in a glance. Specificity is focus, aimed outward.
๐ฐ Top 5 Advertorial (Lesson 2) → ๐ Advertorial Ads (Lesson 3)
The ads are the traffic engine for the article: headlines and imagery echo the Top 5 angles, so the click-off to your advertorial stays consistent. Lesson 2's Step 10 promised news-style ads "not ad-y" โ this is the build.
๐ฐ Ad That Doesn't Look Like an Ad (Lesson 2) ↔ ๐ News-Card Creative (Lesson 3)
The same trick, one level up the funnel. The advertorial disguises the pitch as an article; the ad disguises the click as a news card. Blend-in compounds across the whole path.
๐ง Single-Variable Tweaks (Lesson 3) ↔ ๐ Think in Loops (Lesson 1)
"One lever at a time keeps performance learnings clean" is Lesson 1's loop โ attempt, observe, adjust โ with the variable isolated. It is how you get data you can actually read.
๐จ Variants in Minutes (Lesson 3) ↔ ๐ Increase Exposures (Lesson 1)
Four to seven variants from one layout is "more of the right people seeing the same proven message" โ without redesigning anything. Duplication scales; redesign doesn't.
๐ฏ Relevance (Lesson 3) ↔ ๐ฌ Message Integrity (Lesson 1)
Headlines echo the Top 5 angles so the ad-to-article handoff never breaks the message that converts. "Don't dilute what converted" applies across every step of the funnel.
๐ซ Don't Over-Polish (Lesson 3) ↔ ๐ซ Mistakes to Bin (Lesson 1)
"These are meant to look like everyday news cards. Ship fast, test often" โ polishing them is the procrastination-in-disguise Lesson 1 told you to bin.
๐งฉ Lessons 2–4 → ๐ Lesson 5: everything assembles here
The Meta setup loads exactly what the course already built: the Top 5 advertorial URL (Lesson 2), the advertorial images (Lesson 3), the direct offer images (Lesson 4), and the lesson-end promises "next: upload to your ad account and push live." Lesson 5 is the assembly line.
๐ 48-Hour Signal (Lesson 5) ↔ ๐ Binary Measurement (Lesson 1)
"Ads are an investment, not a cost" โ you are buying data. Within 48 hours you get a hard sale-or-no-sale read at scale. Lesson 1's single metric, running continuously.
๐ซ "It's the Offer or the Creative" (Lesson 5) ↔ ๐ซ Mistakes to Bin (Lessons 1 & 4)
The same rule, third appearance: Lesson 1 banned endless tweaking, Lesson 4 said never design your way out of a weak offer, Lesson 5 says results lagging is not a settings tweak. The fix is always the offer or the angle.
โก Speed (Lesson 1) ↔ ๐ต Always Be Running (Lesson 5)
"Even at $5/day, you are collecting data and buying speed." The speed rule graduates from a sprint tactic to a daily habit โ decisions in minutes, signal in 48 hours.
๐ก Server-Side Tracking (Lesson 5) ↔ ๐ Vanity vs Real Data (Lesson 1)
Lesson 1 said likes and clicks are not cash. Lesson 5 goes one level deeper: Meta's native reporting "can be wildly off" โ so wire CAPI or a tracker before trusting the numbers you act on.
๐งฏ Banned Is Not Blocked (Lesson 5) ↔ ๐ง Resilient (Lesson 1)
"Having a Meta ad account banned is NOT a blocker or an excuse." A setback is feedback that guides the next move โ agency accounts, marketplaces, fresh accounts. Keep moving.
๐ The Course on One Screen
Lesson 1 · Zero to One
- 1.Goal: one confirmed sale. Nothing else counts for this sprint.
- 2.Why: the first sale turns theory into evidence โ proof of competence, momentum, and the beginning of repeatability.
- 3.Method: Greg's most proven acquisition path, one channel, pushed hard.
- 4.Speed rule: sell first, refine later. Proven beats novel. Decisions in minutes.
- 5.Keep it lean: clear offer, easy checkout, moving message, one traffic source, daily throughput, fast follow-up, sale-or-no-sale measurement, tight loops.
- 6.After the sale: read the buyer โ who bought, what hit, what was dead weight.
- 7.Bin: overbuilding, channel hopping, endless tweaking, vanity metrics, waiting for perfect.
- 8.Scale: codify the steps, keep the winning message intact, more exposure, more proof.
- 9.Mindset: decisive, resilient, relentless. The first sale is a baseline, not a finish line.
Lesson 2 · Top 5 Advertorial
- 1.What: a Top 5 comparison article ranking you #1 against four alternatives, published on a neutral, blog-style domain.
- 2.Why: cold traffic is about 3% ready buyers; the article converts scepticism into a recommendation (the referral effect).
- 3.Generate: MCP prompt "Top 5 Advertorial – Tested & Ranked" (inside the $0 to $1K/Day Sprint) → fill in brand, offer, personas, social proof → the AI writes the full article plus image ideas.
- 4.Template: paste into the GoHighLevel AI Studio Top 5 template; keep the editorial look.
- 5.Images: AI hero images, your own screenshots for #2–#5 (named 2-BrandName.png and so on), and a screenshot of your own #1 page.
- 6.Links: red #1 title, every CTA button, every repeated reference → your landing page. Duplicate the call to action; don't rely on one link.
- 7.Publish: neutral newsy domain (bought for one year), connect, publish.
- 8.QA: click every link, preview on mobile, read aloud, ranking crystal clear.
- 9.Ship: about 8–10 minutes once you've done it once. Don't chase perfection.
- 10.Next: Meta ads that match the editorial angle (next lesson).
Lesson 3 · Advertorial Ads
- 1.What: native-style image ads that look like social news thumbnails โ hero image, short headline, publisher tag, byline โ built to blend into feeds.
- 2.Why: they look like the content people already consume, so more curiosity clicks at lower CPMs. Fast to build, cheap to scale.
- 3.Look: real people, real screens, realistic setups โ no glossy corporate stock. If it belongs on a Sky News or LinkedIn feed, it is right.
- 4.Build: AI route (recreate the four reference ads for your offer and Top 5 concepts, with precise edit asks) or Canva template route (swap backgrounds, screenshots, headline, publisher tag).
- 5.Rules: one clean headline line; rewrites keep the same word and character count; publisher tag native to your niche ("eCom News", plausible byline).
- 6.Scale: a Victor channel called "advertorial ads" โ clear brief, tight asks ("Only replace X. Do not change Y.").
- 7.Quality check: native, readable, relevant, authentic, accurate โ five points before download.
- 8.Ship: at least four variants in a named folder (6–7 is fine), ready for the ad account next lesson. Do not over-polish.
Lesson 4 · Direct Offer Ad
- 1.What: blunt, text-first 4:5 static ads that state the deal plainly โ offer, avatar, deliverables, price, turnaround.
- 2.Why: they convert the very aware market and give an instant read on offer-market fit. Clarity over cleverness.
- 3.Lock: exact offer + avatar call-out (example: 10 advertorials, researched, written, built โ 48 hours โ $27 โ "Ecom brand owners 100k+/month").
- 4.Design: Canva 4:5 (1080×1350), bold font, plain headline, avatar line, 3–5 green-check deliverables, unmissable price and turnaround, white or yellow background.
- 5.Multiply: clone for avatar variants โ 90% identical, only the avatar line changes. At least 3 variants.
- 6.Templates & AI (optional): text-led DFY layouts; AI replicates your reference ad pixel-for-pixel when fed the full asset pack, one image at a time.
- 7.Export: name files Offer + Avatar + Colour (Advertorials_27_Ecom100k_White.png) โ ready for Meta setup next.
- 8.Read the signal: no sales means fix the offer first, then iterate the ad. Never design your way out of a weak offer.
Lesson 5 · Meta Ads Setup & Go Live
- 1.What: zero to one with Meta ads โ two Pages, one Sales campaign with CBO, both ad types loaded, tracking wired, published. Start at $5/day.
- 2.Why: ads are an investment โ hard feedback within 48 hours. 90% of results come from creative, not setup.
- 3.Access: Facebook and Meta Ads account; bans are not a blocker (agency accounts, swaps.co). Business Portfolio + fresh Ad Account if new.
- 4.Pages: Advertorial Page (news-style name, logo, advertorial URL) + Brand / Offer Page.
- 5.Campaign: Sales, CBO on, clear name, start 00:01 the next day.
- 6.Ad set: website conversions, Purchase event, US/UK/AU/NZ/CA, age 22+ (25+ high ticket), broad โ creative does the targeting.
- 7.Ads: Advertorial ads (Advertorial Page identity, advertorial URL, Lesson 3 images) + Direct Offer ads (Brand Page identity, offer landing page, Lesson 4 images). One creative per ad, max 6 per ad set, all "helpful" toggles off, Button = Learn more, UTM on every ad.
- 8.Publish: Review and Publish at campaign level. Solid to ~$1k/day; split campaigns and geos above that.
- 9.Tracking: Cortana (advanced, ~98%) or GoHighLevel + CAPI (free, ~75–80%, good to start). Save Dataset ID + Access Token.
- 10.Rhythm: run daily, judge at 48 hours, fix the offer or the creative, expand geos at ~$1k/day spend.
